He is even more surprised to see Owen dominating a young woman in a scene. When he finally visits the local BDSM club, he is shocked to see Owen, a college professor with whom Sterling had a contentious relationship in class. He befriends Alex, one of the men he viewed, and begins researching BDSM. Review 2: College student Sterling discovers BDSM when he happens upon a private scene. I never felt bored and I didn't want this story to end!If you want an excellent BDSM book with complex characters and solid writing, I'd say to give this one a try! I wanted to punch Sterling's family and Kirk, but the conflicts felt believable and really moved the story along. I love that it was a long story and I just loved the entire progression of teaching to tentative relationship to love for Sterling and Owen. I'm so glad I picked this one! It was just WONDERFUL! Hot, super sexy, great characterization and writing, and just overall an excellent story. Review 1: I felt like reading some kink, so I looked through some of the older stories that I hadn't gotten around to reading yet.

Over the course of their careers, both the authors have observed how men tend to distrust women who are self-deprecating about their achievements, considering them inauthentic. This is a problem that the author has observed in the numerous workshops she’s conducted with diverse groups of professional women, and it’s evident in nearly every industry at every level in the workplace hierarchy.Īlthough seen as polite, being overly modest is more likely to harm a woman’s career than advance it.
